Military veterans who need assistance with their day-to-day activities often face a losing battle when it comes to paying for that care. One relatively unknown benefit available to qualifying veterans is the “Aid and Attendance” program.
Aid and Attendance
This program pays a monthly benefit to veterans and their families who need assistance with their daily activities or who are housebound.
Qualifying for this Benefit.
Veterans may receive Aid and Attendance payments if they meet one of the following conditions:
- Needs assistance with two activities of daily living including: bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring and dressing.
- Is completely bedridden due to a disability.
- Receives nursing home care due to a physical or mental incapacity.
- Has severely limited eyesight.
