An Estate with a Valid Will
Maybe you left a valid Will, or transferred assets through a trust or through beneficiary designations. After your death, your executor files your Will with the probate court to get letters testamentary. The executor then pays claims against your estate, gathers and manages assets, then makes distributions to heirs.
